X6 revealed at auto show. thoughts on this vs. x5??

i was thinking of getting a 2008 x5.... but just looked at the pictures from the Frankfurt auto show which revealed the 2009 X6.... it looks awesome, quite large and strong presence. very slick, masculine, etc.....

any thoughts on this vs the x5?

i understand it's a cross over vs. SUV, however, not sure the difference is actually 'that' great.... they could have same ground clearance... in which case, only real difference is, how much more does the x5 really hold? if not 'significant'... the x6 might be a better choice.

anyone find any interior pictures??

Price difference will be 'noticeable' and the vehicles probably don't appeal to the same buyer, for instance I like the X5 over the X6 because the X5 resembles Euro design, IMO, where as the X6 looks Asian

IMO.

Interior pics will not be out till next month as its concept at this point.

X6 is four seater only. Its 10 cm lower than X5.

We have X6 forum here. Did you see this thread of X6 pics and info? The PDF there shows actual measurements of X6

thanks, hadn't seen that thread until now.

interesting thing i read is that the x6 is longer and wider than the x5.... so maybe it will have somewhat comparable cargo space. the x5 is not nearly as sleak looking... darn, too bad the x6 isn't out NOW! hmmm... what to do.

Sorry, not for me. I've been a big fan of the X5 when they first came out and will continue to love X5. That's why I was glad that the E70 still has the similar look of an E53. I'm sure the X6 will attract a different market of buyers, like the same group of people who likes the Infinity FX45 and such. Not to be rude but the shape kind of reminds me of the old AMC Eagle vehicles. IMHO.

The cargo space is MUCH less than your X5. I sat in the X6 at a focus group. Did I mention the limited head room in the rear too!

The 3 series sedan feels much more roomy than the X6 in almost every way.

X6 is not intended to be a family car/people mover. Its more a fun car/SAC.

Amen... I hope BMW and MB don't go the way of the Buick look that has set into so many makers design bag lately!
