MSRP for the car was right at $60K, and i got around $57K with these option PII pkg, trailer hitch and CD changer. PII pkg included the following-
DVD Navigation,
Rear View Camera,
Hands-Free Communication System,
Rear audio controls,
SIRIUS Satellite Radio,
Harman/kardon LOGIC7® system,
Power liftgate,
Auto-dimming mirrors,
Power Steering Column and Memory Seat Function,
Power-folding mirror,
Headlamp washing system,
Bi-Xenon Active Curve-illuminating Headlamps,
Corner-illuminating foglamps
and with the AMG pkg standard I think its a better value

That is a good deal, and the ride looks stunning.
Hope are you enjoying it?

So far everything is great, I really wanted the X5 but price wise the 4.8 is not worth too me and with it not having no autotailgate was a killed for me as i needed a SUV by end of this year(third child on the way)

Can you contrast the ride, handling, performance of the 550 vs. the 4.8?

I'm in the market for a replacment for our 02 4.4 X5 and have somewhat turned off by the problem reports and high prices for the latest model. We really like the way the X drives and previous MLs always seemed too soft for our taste.

+1 I was just going to say that.

It's one thing to go into the E70 forum and complaint and bash the car that you actually own.

But to do it without having actually owning one, I think is a little bit out of line.

What's with the fixation on automatic tailgate?...

If it was something like touchscreen navi, BUILT IN 6 CD CHANGER. Even Mercury and Hyundai have magically figured out how to put 6 CD's in the dash...

That's my pet peeve
