For those with 08's on order...

I am considering placing an order for an 08', and was wondering what you guys were able to negotiate off of MSRP given the fact that 08' pricing has not been released yet. I have already been quoted $2,100 (before haggling) off MSRP for an 07', but none of those have the options I want.

Just curious what your experiences have been thus far when ordering your 08'.

Thanks in advance!

$3000 off MSRP. I am sure it will improve if I haggle.

You guys in the US are so lucky.

I just placed an order today for a 3.0SD M-Sport Pack with a pile of extras in Ireland. The supply is so limited that I couldn't get one red cent off the list price.

Really? You got that quote yourself? I read one other person getting that much off, but only one. No one will give me a price on an 08' yet, let alone commit to a $3k discount. In your opinion, do you think the $3k off is due to an extensive list of options, or was that off of the $54,500 base price? Just looking for clarification please. One more thing, Any idea how much the 2LE 20” Y-SPOKE STYLE 214 WHEELS/TIRES go for w/o sport package? Does it look like I'm missing any "must haves"?

This is what I'm looking at so far:

2008 BMW X5 4.8i ALPINE WHITE/TOBACCO
BASE PRICE $54,500.00

OPTION DESCRIPTION RETAIL PRICE

ZAV ACTIVE VENTILATED SEAT PACKAGE $2,100.00
contour/vent seats-perf leather
494 HEATED FRONT SEATS $500.00
4AB DARK BURL WALNUT WOOD TRIM $0.00
ZRC REAR CLIMATE PACKAGE $900.00
shades-4 zone climate-privacy
ZTP TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE $2,600.00
camera-pdc-nav-voice
328 RUNNING BOARDS $300.00
? iPod & USB ADAPTOR $400.00

SUB TOTAL $61,300.00

DEST/HAND $695.00
TAX $4,965.30
TITLE/REG
VLT ($54,500*.60/100)*2.80 $915.60
TITLE $4.00
REGISTRATION $8.00

GRAND TOTAL $66,960.30

We're not really that lucky considering we have to wait another year until we even see the 3.0SD. I'd pay full price for that right now and then some and I'm sure I'm not alone. With that said, the $5k sales tax sure does hurt though so I'll take any discount I can get when the time comes.

I got 2250 over invoice on a ordered 08 4.8.

My regular dealer quoted 1k off msrp (was hard to even get that), another quoted 1200 off of msrp, a third quoted 3k off of msrp, and then the last two quoted 2500 over invoice. I just went with the one that said they would beat 2500 over.

Keep in mind if you are trading though, the dealer that offered 3k off of msrp only wanted to give me 12k for my trade. Where as the dealer with 1k off offered 15k.

I'm in the US, NJ as a matter of fact, and the best off I've been able to get is 2k off for an 07 (this was months ago, not sure today). The dealer, that I currently have an '08 on order with, gave me $1500 off for a 3.0si and said $2k off if I had ordered a 4.8i, regardless if the prices are increased. Mind you, while I didn't check off every box in the options category, I did load my 3.0si with an extensive list of options (over 12k on top of base), which didn't seem to matter much in the negotioations towards the discount.

On a side note, one other local dealer told me that he would not give me anything off and that even his longest\loyalest customers have had to pay full sticker for an X5, which I thought was just absurd and arrogant. Suffice it to say, I didn't end up ordering through that dealer or dealership.

I'm sure I could have found a dealer that would go lower, but since I'm planning to use my current dealer for my services, it just made sense to to buy from them.

good luck on your decision making!
Tae

Hey LeMansX5...

If you'd like.... I can recommend you to another dealer that will shower you with their appreciation for loyalty.... as a matter of fact, they treat everyone equally and apply the same discounts to all E70 X5 customers....

$0.00!!!

Cheers,
Tae
