It does feel a little sluggish when getting on the freeway on-ramps compared to the E53. Maybe because of the extra weight plus 3rd row seat on a 3.0 engine. Not a big deal for me.
CONGRATS...it looks great!!

regarding #4- I thought I had this problem until I realized I was using both keys. The keys save your settings, so if you use keyA and set up I-drive then enter car w/ keyB, your settings will be different. This could possibly be the cause.

regarding sluggishness- I found this improved dramatically after a few thousand miles. Likely a combination of breaking in the engine and the transmission learning your behaviour.

Thanks and good points X5FX. Come to think of it, the settings changed when I used my wife's key. I will definitely check it out.

The car has 300 miles so I'll give it a bit more time.

This issue with the DVD player is just irritating me. I have a 16 month old boy and you cannot reason with him when he sees a blank screen. I'm just preparing myself to bring it to the dealer several times for the next few weeks. I was just told they only have a 3 series loaner. Can't complaint. Better than what I heard from other people.

BTW: Did you black out the tail lights with film or spray?

Also, would you mind posting a close up shot of the bamboo grain? I placed an order for the same interior combo and judging by your pics, I think I made the right decision.

Enjoy it in the best of health!!!!!
Tae
Thanks!

The tail lights were tinted with film. The spray is cheaper but it has a dull, matte look. The film is glossy that matches the car paint.

I was also worried with the dark bamboo but was quite happy when I saw it. It looked better in person. I used to have an E53 with Dark Walnut and I like the Bamboo better. Here are some closer shots of the wood.

the dark bamboo really looks nice in your scans. I think i'm pretty happy with my choice.

Thanks for following up with the pics.

Again, enjoy the E70 in the best of health!!!!

Took the E70 back to the dealer where I leased the car and was very disappointed with the service.

Issue 1: At the time the DVD player was intermittently failing so of course, it was working at the time I brought it in. They told me no trouble found.
Issue 3: They told me this was normal??? There was a post in this forum regarding the same issue with the black rubber and the dealer replaced the boards.

I did not make a big deal out of it but I showed them my disappointment. They will hear more when I ding them on the CSI.

The DVD player failed again today and immediately took it to my local BMW dealer this time and showed proof that the DVD is not working. They also checked the running board and they said they will look into it. I'm scheduled to bring it in on Thursday. It just proves to show that some dealers with do anything to make you feel stupid and say that there's nothing wrong with your car.

As suggested by fellow members of this forum, the sluggishness that I first noticed is now gone after putting in more miles into the car. The acceleration now feels way better compared to when it was brand new.

Other than these minor setbacks, I just love the car and I feel blessed to be the one behind the wheel driving it instead of the one looking as I drive by.

Golfer did you tint the tail light yourself? What kind of film did you use? Was it easy to do? With tinted tail light it's much more aggressive.

No, I had the same people who tinted the windows do it. They used a very thick film with adhesive on it and then used a heat gun to form it into the curves of the tail light. I could have probably done it myself if I have the film and saved me a fortune.
