My New Black Beauty

Finally took delivery of my 07 E70 3.0 after two orders and months of waiting. Sorry for the all the glare in the pics. It's either I don't have enough natural light (sunset) or went a little crazy with the Zaino. Enjoy the pics.

Nice Golfer.
Is your rear DVD system working well?
On a side, I always throught that it could be recessed until I took delivery. If you fold it down, then one can't open the armrest, so I leave it up all the time.

Thanks for all the compliments all. Feels great to be the one at the receiving end.

I have to take it back to the dealer. The DVD player is not working properly. Same problems just like everybody. You get the black screen and you have to restart the car to get it to work again. You're right, they put the DVD player in a bad spot. I have to leave it up also to open the armrest.

Issue that I found so far:
1. Failing DVD player.
2. Loosing BT connectivity while on a call.
3. The black rubber dimples on the running board is sinking when you step on it.
4. The Idrive settings get wiped out for no reason (radio station pre-set, time and date, etc.)

I'm bringing it back to the dealer this weekend to hopefully fix all the issues.

Annoying minor problems but I'm happy with the car. It handles better than the E53 and feels very solid. My wife loves the IDrive. It does feel a little sluggish when getting on the freeway on-ramps compared to the E53. Maybe because of the extra weight plus 3rd row seat on a 3.0 engine. Not a big deal for me. I love the car and I will get another one if I have to do it again.

CONGRATS...it looks great!!

regarding #4- I thought I had this problem until I realized I was using both keys. The keys save your settings, so if you use keyA and set up I-drive then enter car w/ keyB, your settings will be different. This could possibly be the cause.

regarding sluggishness- I found this improved dramatically after a few thousand miles. Likely a combination of breaking in the engine and the transmission learning your behaviour.
