On the UK configurator, I found an option named Dynamic Cruise Control, but it has the same option code (544) as Cruise Control with braking function so it must be the same option, and not Adaptive CC. Or are you talking about another option?

are we sure this is not really 'hill descent control'??? can anyone confirm it's different? because hill descent control is basically a 'cruise control with braking'.... right?

yes, has been a feature since x5 was introduced. and i'm wondering if they just changed the name to trick people... since most other cars in this price tag DO have active cruise control. shame on BMW....

The OP talks about Dynamic Cruise control, which is standard across most of the newer BMWs. It will apply the brakes if the vehicle exceeds the set speed, or if you want to decelerate using the stalk. It is NOT ACC because that option allows you to set a distance from the vehicle in front of you, and will accel/brake in order to maintain speed and distance. This isn't avail on the X5 and I have no idea why.

I hate the new cruise control stalk though. They should put it back on the steering wheel where it belongs.

active cruise control is just one major feature that BMW is lacking on this car which other vehicles have had for some time. other features lacking include adjustable height, night vision, and a tire pressure monitoring system that SHOWS the tire pressure.

It took me awhile...lots of cursing, etc. But now that I understand the concept...it really is a better solution.

I always accidently mistake the turn and cruise control stalks on the E90. They feel the same and are located too close to each other. I don't think this is something I can get used to.
