Efficient Dynamics in 2008 E70?

Does anyone know what "Efficient Dynamics" features are in the 2008 E70?

I have seen some rumors that regenerative braking, AC compressor clutching and some other features may be in the E70... Any news on this??

BMW published fuel efficiency stats may be an indicator??

The UK edition of X5 3.0 is getting the EfficientDynamics and Brake Energy regeneration.

From press release
"Even the X5, BMW’s class-leading Sports Activity Vehicle, has received Brake Energy Regeneration from BMW’s EfficientDynamics programme. This enables the 3.0d model to emit a congestion charge-friendly 214g/km.

Mid-November sees the all-new BMW X5 3.0sd arrive in showrooms. Using the world’s most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine, previously seen in the 335d and 535d, the new BMW X5 3.0sd delivers 286hp from its twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel. However, in common with other EfficientDynamics-equipped cars, emissions are kept to a minimum with the new X5 3.0sd only emitting 216g/km and therefore heading for an £8.00 per day London congestion charge under the proposed changes in London. All other petrol and diesel-powered competitor SUVs and SAV’s will be charged £25 under the new proposals."

All X5 built after week 40 in 2008 will have the Efficent Dynamics. It will increase the the fuel efficency of the 4.8i very well (6% savings). On the 3.0si there will be not to much savings (5%). These numbers are done by the ECE cycle test (European Style). The diesels are improved by 7% ... by the way.

Hope that helps

Christian

How do we translate week 40? Is it by the calendar? In other words, week 1 is January 1st; week 2 is January 8th; etc...?

So basically that's Oct of '08, which is MY2009.

It's funny how the cars are built in the U.S. but we see the upgrades last.

Ahh good. Now tell us the 3.0sd for U.S. starts in like week 44 of '07 and you'll really make people happy.
