Ipod Issue (Playlists)

I picked up my car @ the dealer last friday after nearly 9 months of waiting and I have a little issue with my Ipod.
When I go to the Ipod via Idrive I have acces to everything except the playlists wich is very anoying as all my music is ordered in the playlists.
Does anyone knows what the reason can be of this issue ?
I've did a search in the forum but I cannot find an earlier thread.
Many thanks.

Normally, you have the access to playlist and other classification as proposed by your Ipod. Have you checked that the playlist are actually as well present within your Ipod? When you do not have enough memory on your Ipod, it happens that Itunes synchronise all musics into 1 big playlist.

I've checked it and they are present in my ipod.
It's a 30GB version and there is 8 GB free so I don't know what the problem could be.
Does anyone experience the same problem ?
Thanks

I have a 4 GB Nano and I can see all my playlist on the Idrive screen. Have you tried plugging another Ipod unit and see if it does the same thing? This should al least eliminate the ipod as the culprit

Only if you take the "USB adapter" option.

Yes, when it's connected to the USB/audio connection Ipod charges
It's a good thing because otherwise while loading you couldn't use the connection as it's the same for connecting the Ipod to the USB/audio connection ...
Nobody with Ipods have had the same problem as I do ??
Cheers

So which IPOD connection do you have? Factory installed or dealer?

I don't have my car yet, so I am guessing a bit here but here is one thing to check: Make sure that 'Playlists' show up as a Main Menu item. To do this, go the the Main Menu, select Settings and Main Menu, then change Playlists to YES. It is possible that the interface only works with items from the Main Menu.

Good luck!

Thanks everybody for the suggestions !
I've tried to connect my wife's ipod ... no playlists.
I checked and playlist are turned on in the menu of the ipod.
It's a factory installed option so I don't understand why I can't see my playlist and that there are other people who can see it, strange.
Does anyone have another suggestion what I can check ?
Thanks.
