Do they have any pictures that installed on E70? Not the stock one on their ebay.

Did they also offer you some ocean front proprty in Arizona while they were blowing smoke up your ass? I mean, I am not saying the wheel is junk, but did you really believe that statement? Last time I checked BMW wheels were not exactly prone to bending under normal driving.

Only with pothole prone areas (and BMW is not alone with that reputation). I would be willing to put money down that says the Bluestars are not heavier due to bead area reinforcement. I have seen other replicas and they typically are not scalloped the same in the spoke areas on the back of the wheel, and this is what adds weight. Since this is not where the wheels are prone to bend, there is not benefit to more weight in this area.

Unsprung weight is much different than normal weight in terms of affecting the dynamics of the vehicle, so yes.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the manufacturing quality of the rim. Having used aftermarket rims in the past and further, being in the automotive profession, I can tell you that there is alot more here than meets the eye. Firstly, the rims manufactured by Ronal for BMW must meet a certan "quality" criteria. I'm guessing most likely the tires are mounted to the rims at the Spartanburg facility and there is a limit to how many wheel weights can be or should be added. As well, usually "we" match the high spot in the rim (indicated by the manufacturer of the rim) to the low spot on the tire (again indicated by a dot or sticker on - ever wonder what all those dots and stickers are on your rims/tires - well now you know). Secondly, what do you think happens to all the rejected rims...they end up with resellers who make no warranty implications. I've seen aftermarket rims that just can't be balanced correctly - you get them close but at certain speeds, they do vibrate and further..this over time will do a number on you and your suspension. So, buying an aftermarket rim does have drawbacks, like how the wheel is balanced (when it was cast or forged) - which brings up another point - forged rims are probably the better ones to go for, lighter and stronger if you can find them - although more $$$. Now, if all you want is the look - crap, go for the aftermarket ones...quality in finishing maybe less but it comes down to what you can afford.

Of course,NYND, you are correct in your assessment, but I'm looking for a live person who did buy the aftermarket wheels.

Hey, at $70k. for this ride, OEM should be the way to go. "Should" is the key word here--but hey, is there something "as good?"

I'm coming off some bad issues with my last sport pkg. 19's (with the staggered rim widths) so I'm now thinking of 20"s with all the same widths. Obviously using the 10" wide fronts all around. They can then be rotated and avoid the "cupping" and the resulting tire noise.

What do you think?
