Basically, DTC "turns off" the traction control, meaning that your wheels can spin if needed, but the stability control is still activated. Pushing and holding the DTC button turns off traction and stability control.

As long as you remember all 4 wheels are still getting power.

. xDrive can't be shut off though, so xDrive will still do its part to help sort out tricky situations. Not necessarily a bad thing IMO.
