I seem to recall that when I had my fronts done and I asked the installer to match the factory tint, he told me the best he could do was 35% (MA) as the factory was 32%. It seems to be pretty close to me, but it's not hard to see that it's a bit lighter...

I checked my 2001 X5 and the front windows had like 75% and the rear windows were about 45%. It does not seem like it but... the front windows do have a light amount of tint.
The front windows are something to think about when adding more tint. If you were to add the legal limit... in VA 50%.. Plus the 25% already blocked.... You will actually have 25%. I will check the tint reading on my new 2007 Wednesday and let you know.

Hi all,
I just picked up my new X5 3.0si last Firday. I am looking to tint the front passenger windows to match the factory tint and wanted to know what the factory % was. Didn't seem like there was a definitive answer here. Thnx.
