If it does also play DVDs on the rear entertainment screen then that will convince me to get the premium sound and rear entertainment packages.

As far as the full-screen mode........the LCD screen is not a standard widescreen with an approx. aspect ratio of 16:9. The aspect ratio of the entire screen is MUCH more than what is needed for widescreen DVD playback, so you wouldn't want to be able to play DVDs fullscreen on it. The left section of the screen where video is displayed is already more or less the correct aspect ratio for widescreen DVD playback
