I stuck a music CD in there (both store bought and computer burned) and both stated that they were not compatible.

Any suggestions?

Wink

Hi
If the 2008 uses the same data platform like the E60, E90 and E93 we have a plug and play video in motion unit for that car. The mod is $350 and will allow the car to play dvd while you drive. I will have more units in next wekk. If someone wants to try it please call me at 718-763-7367.
Thanks Dominic www.TVandNav2Go.com

Hi Dominic.......nice to see you here.....I've seen your posts before on E60.net. So your video in motion unit will allow playback on the main LCD display while the car is in motion, correct?

Do you carry the original BMW TV tuner for the E70, E60, etc.? I bought the original BMW TV tuner along with a video in motion box for my wife's E53 about 5 years ago from another company and I love the fact that the TV tuner interface is 100% integrated with the NAV system/computer. I would love to have the same ability on the E60 and E70, but I have not heard of any company that offers the BMW module for sale. Obviously the original TV tuner module is available through BMW dealers outside the US for the E60, and I assume the E70......but will it be plug and play like the TV tuners for older BMW's used to be, or will it require coding by the dealer? If it requires coding by the dealer I doubt US dealers would know how to do it.

Thanks

Hi rodybmw
Yes the TV Free unit will let the car play dvd while in motion. Sorry we don't carry the OEM tuners anymore too expensive.
Thanks Dominic www.TVandNav2Go.com

Dominic....so you don't carry the OEM TV tuner anymore......but would you happen to know if the OEM tuners for the newer iDrive models (E60, E63, E70, etc.) are plug and play like the old ones? Or does the car need to be coded by the dealer in order to recognize the tuner module?

Thanks

In terms of the units required to watch DVDs while in motion and hooking up TV tuners... how difficult are these to install? Is this something anyone can do, or do these require some experience in radio/etc installation?

I'd love to install anything that will allow DVDs to play while the car is in motion, but I'm hesitant without having knowledge on hooking any of these things up.

Thanks -

Looking at the website the DVD changer is not available in the UK. Does anyone know any different ?

Could someone in the US just confirm that there is both a CD and a DVD changer available depending on the spec of the car?

I would think that the CD changer has just been upgraded to a DVD changer? Would be surprised if they fitted both due to expense/hassle.

That's unfortunate for the 2007 owners, they miss out the feature of the front DVD player. I wonder if they would be able to upgrade.
