I have scouring the web for information on how to import an X5 from the US to Canada (British Columbia). I think I got most of the steps covered, but what information that is lacking is on insurance. I know I need insurance, but where do I get it? Do I get temporary insurance from the Canadaian provider (ICBC) or is it from a US insurer?
TIA.

Canadian Insurer. Not all Insurance companies will insure a car for importation while in transit in another country.

Hey, nice avatar! Most shipping companies will carry insurance on your car while it's in transit. Maintain your current policy and it should be ok.

No, your selling dealer should arrange this or check with Ministry of Transportation for your province.
