Anyone consider the possibility that the BMW dealer or salesman had the same opinion, and messed-up the order on purpose?

Even car salesmen have limits.

I wouldn't have taken the car either and I'd be really upset...but nobody cares that you're 18 and driving around in a $70,000 car. For my 18th birthday, I got to drive around in my parents Nissan Sentra Wagon (quite possibly the ugliest car ever created) and it was great. There are a lot of people on here who have earned their money by working hard - maybe someday you'll learn that. They don't feel the need to brag about it like you do. It's a BMW board...most people who are on this site have some money - they're driving BMW's. You don't have to justify it. Postings like yours just make you seem like a spoiled little brat - but then again, you are 18. Enjoy your birthday. Enjoy the car you get. While you're waiting for the right X5, drive around in one of Daddy's cars (I'm sure he has some pretty nice ones) and be happy. How's that sound?

I think you guys are taking him a bit too seriously. Sure, his family's got the goods. I just think he likes playing the part of the agitator to see your reaction and to see if you'll take the bait.

A proper response should have been that he should take the Black E70, bury it deep in the Middle East sand, hitch a ride on a camel back to the ranch, then ask his Dad to buy him a new one - in Platinum Bronze, no less

Have fun with him!

Easy fix, you should have that salesman stoned to death right there in the showroom (you can still do that over there, right?) and bury his ass in the desert.

I wish that we could shut down this post. I am at a loss for words about the posts from the spoiled 18-year old. I have zero envy for him!! He has a lot to learn about life.
