Is this dealerInvoice Price on X5 3.0 correct?

Hi All,

Dealer quickly showed me invoice pricing for a 08 X5
3.0 with Prem Pkg, Tech Pkg, Sat Radio, Ipod, HUD, Cold Weather Pkg & delivery. I was not able to get a copy to review, but I think it was 50620.
Is my memory correct? If not what should it be?

Thanks

http://www.cars.com can spec the '08s for you.
- Find new car --> Build your own --> Add colors & options

I did find a discrepancy in the base price between cars.com and truedelta.com by a smidgen.
$42230 vs $42410

True Invoice is 42230, but there is also a 180 training fee that is on the price sheet, Truedelta added it into the final invoice. Dealers usually make sure they add it before they show you the real invoice. I had a dealer show me his invoice, but the base vehicle invoice was whited out and written over in pen and obviously number was higher.
I was explained that they had to add all fees such as training, MAACO (or whatever you call it) etc.

Ether way, information you find on this site really helps, but if the dealer does not want to sell the car for less then they feel is right, show them anything you want, they will not sell for less no matter what.

Is invoice what the dealers are paying for the car or are there any holdbacks ect? I'm just trying to find the cost so I can work up from that point.

Thanks

Officially, there is no holdback on BMW's
http://www.edmunds.com/advice/incent...ack/index.html

But I know that all dealers get insentives and bonuses from amount of cars sold. Additionally after the sale, you will be called by BMWNA rep for a survey where you will be asked multiple questions on how you liked your experience. If you give all 5's the dealership and the sales person gets better rating which in turn means more money for them (bonuses, etc)

So in theory if they had sold the car for invoice and you come back with all 5's they are already ahead of the game.
I highly doubt any dealer would do that, but there is no one stopping you from trying.

I know I got my very decent discount, but its not realistic to get to invoice.
Even now I get callbacks from other dealers asking me if I made a purchase and most say good luck and that they couldnt have matched the price after I tell them my discount.

Look at it this way, on a 70K car I think its decent and if the dealer is hungry you can do better.
If this is a base 3.0 X5 then this is unrealistic.
I would guess you are somewhere in between and in that case you did a littlebit better then me, but I wonder with this discount how much would dealer work for you to get the hard to get Saddle Brown interior.

Ether way, congrads on your order.

Edit: I see the options you chose.. This is really really good.... You really got them to come down on a hot truck.

Calling must be random. I have bought 9 BMW's since 2001 and have never received a survey call from BMW . ??

Proveg,

I have not ordered it yet. I going to see another dealer tonight to see if he'll beat that price, then maybe back to the first one.
