Question Screen freezes...is it common?

Hi All, I haven't been on the site for a while, busy with work and family and all. We picked up our new E70 X5 4.8 about 2 months ago to replace our old X5 4.4 which we had for just over 3 years...main reason for the change is the 3rd row seat.

The new car/truck is great, there are so many improvements over the old one and drives better as well....except one problem...I-drive. It has frozen up several times and yesterday, the welcome screen wouldn't even go away when pressing "accept". Is this a common problem with the E70s? Spoke to the dealer and they say there is an software update coming out soon. Thanks for your feedback.

Just had the i-drive screen freeze with the reverse camera on. Radio controls did not respond. Got home and turned the car off and the screen and radio stayed on despite the key being removed (no comfort access). Has anyone had this issue resolved before?

I handsome issues with freezing but not exactly described.
Mostly it wouldn't boot up, stuck at "Starting Navigation" and once it froze completely.

Dealer spent two days reprogramming it and it's fine.

With older iDriver versions it was more common than now. What year is your 4.8i? It might be on the original SW level. Lots of upgrades have occured for bug fixes and some new features. Worth getting it done.
