it's not really about adjusting the suspension but more on the vehicle's software management system..

he also emphasized the importance of having them install, mount, and balance the new wheel/tire package... (along with the TPM sensors)

any comments?? is this required?? don't have cost estimates but it doesn't sound like they do it for cheap!!
Yes I believe it is needed if you have a 4.8, inorder to reach the official top speed. With less than 20" the top speed limit is less. In fact what they do is release the top speed limit.....

Do you have a link to official info on that, first I've heard of it. Also all BMW's are speed limited, so if that above is true, every rim change on any BMW would effect speed limiters and require reprogramming.

oh actually yeah the top speed thing does make sense. but it also makes sense that the different rim sizes all have the same circumference too. hmm...

Oh by the way, I've gone from V rated 20" to H rated winters (BMW winter package). Does that mean the car will still go to 150 mph? i mean it'd be a bad idea but you know

y5choi: The best way to find out is try, let me know if you still can reach 150mph.....Nah, j/k it should still be the same since the software has not been updated.

so it seems unless you need to change the speed limiter there's no need to bring it in for programming...(and in my case with the 3.0 i don't need it)

i honestly thought they would need to adjust suspension and other related components for the 20s... guess not.

makes sense since the circumference is the same any way you look at it.

reset the TPM and i'm done!!

feel much better, thanks
