Creaking sound from rear hatch

I complained about it do much to the dealer and they said it's because the rear hatch is heavy that's why.

Did your dealer apply the felt tape to the areas that clipped in only or every contacting surface of each panel? I can't tell if it's the plastic flex making the noise or where two pieces touch and rub up against each other.

They spent a whole day and a half fixing the hatch. test drive's and more fixing, etc. They nailed it down to two sounds. Metal clanking from the rear cargo retractable slip cover. Removing it removed the metal sound. They felt taped the plastic on the back of the lower hatch area per a bulletin from tail light to tail light. They also adjusted the two hatch stops located on each side per the bulletin for a more secure latch.

Sound is 95% gone, you can still hear a tiny bit of flex, but now I am really listening for it.

Alright! There is a good start for me! Mine seem to be from the plastic panels on the D pillars and cargo area but I will check the things you mentioned! Thanks!

I've spent the last 2-3 weeks isolating the metal clunking sound from the rear as well as another thud. The problems were:

1. Rear lower tailgate hatch is a little lose as the rubber has got a bit thinner with age. All I did was make it a bit tighter by loosening the bolts on the black latches attached to the rear wings and pulling them in by 1mm. It stopped the metallic thud sound.

2. The rear seats clasps were vibrating against the plastic of the rear seat. All I did there was put on some pvc tape round the clasp so it connected into the rear seat with less movement. This stopped the sound.

Thanks to Paul, who sat in the back of the trunk whilst we rode around trying to find the sounds.

Did they tell you what the bulletin was? Is there something noted like a number...I'd love to refer to this with my dealer.

I developed another rattle. Get rid of one, earn two more.

Now it's coming from my passenger seat. It seems to be coming from the base where you sit on and where the back rest portion of the seat meet. Sounds like when you shake a jacket and the button makes a clicking noise. When I shove my hand in the gap, it goes away. Is there something that I can tighten up??

They wrote it on my work slip as bulletin SIB 51 37 10 .....
I personally would not even bother trying to fix it. Went back there few times and they try adjusting it just to find out that will be good for 3-4 days and then make the clicking sound again

Anyone got instructions for SIB ra51 47 156 ?
This is instructions to remove c-pillar vent trim - mine is rattling

That's the one where the second row seat belts are right? If so, pry off the air bag label, there is a torx key in there, then make your way to the base of the seat belt and remove that hex bolt holding the seat belt in place. Then the rest is just snapped in. You should be able to pry around and have it pop out.
