Creaking sound from rear hatch

Anyone experience a creaking type sound from their rear hatch... I think it is the trim paniels around the window on the rear hatch door since when you try and move them by hand you can hear a metal on metal type noise from the trim retaining clips... anyone got a similar noise ... ? Thanks.

Knock on wood, no. Have you checked the sunscreen? Others have identified that as a source of rattle. If you have a spare make sure its tight as well.

Yea, I have it too. My new SA told me in a very condescending tone that it was caused by my ice scraper in the cargo area. Nope. Once I went over the first rought roadt after 3 service trips, the noise is back.

Needless to say, I will be requesting a new SA.

I reckon it's a trim issue as it does not appear to be a "rattling" ... I will be trying to take the rear trim off and then placing a rubber strip over the clip... not sure if that will work... I also noticed the rear cargo floor "squeaks" in the left hand rear corner but that isn't it... I'll need to get someone to drive whilst I am in the back of the hatch... !!!

Count me in as well. It's seems to be worse in the morning; the creaking and popping is driving me nuts. I've tried to place some shims in the area under the rear window where the cheap plastic surround is located which seems to be the cause of the noises. I will try and remove all covers and see if it still keeps making noise. Plan to have dealer check it out as well.

I have the noise as well, but it is pretty minor compared to my clicking comfort seat and wind vibration noise (both corrected by the dealership by replacing the seat base, sunroof assembly, and adjusting the roof rack).

"rear cargo floor "squeaks" in the left hand rear corner ".

I have this problem, too. But not always, it just appears sometime and disappear in another time. I was wondering if any loosed thing in the cargo compartment causes this squeaks, but, no. I took out all the things inside and still have such a noise.

I have the noise from my driving seat, too. It sounds like some improperly installed springs.

When I drove to BMW service, they took the bottom covers out and apply some grease to some sort of post or stick. Then the noise gone.

I am not sure if I am using the correct words. But the technician said that there are 4 stick (or post) in the seat and the rubber parts on them need
to be greased.
