Dealer confirmed ... she arrived

My dealer confirmed that the car arrived. No pictures yet as she is still in his receiving area. Car needs full clean up, installation of the ACS rims, aluminium pedals (brake and accelerator), installation of the anti-car jacking alarm, ... (no installation of the Eisenmann exhaust as this won't be available until January 08).

Pick-up of the car is scheduled for November 27th in the afternoon and that would be about 3 months earlier than what they first reported (= end of Feb 08). Great job and thumbs up to my dealer .

We have some exciting car weeks coming up. This is the program:

- Friday Nov. 23rd: test drive of a Ferrari F430, 599 GTB Fiorano and a 612 Scaglietti HGTC. I get to drive them back to back. Should be interesting and will hopefully help me decide which to order (or not to order).

- Tuesday Nov. 27 in PM: pick-up of my wife's new X5.

- Wednesday, Nov 28: BMW invited us to go race the new M3 on the track of Paul Ricard in the South of France. They fly us out of Brussels at 07:00 AM. We land at Le Castellet at 08:40 AM. Drive the M3 all morning on the track. Lunch offered by BMW and in the afternoon they have all kinds of goodies lined up such as X5, M5, M6, 760i, 550i, Z4M, ... that we get to drive around the nice roads of the French Riviera. They fly us back in the evening to Brussels. Who says BMW doesn't know anything about customer service.

I promise to post some pictures on this board of the M day event and as soon as I have pictures of the Mrs.' X5 they will be posted as well.

Cheers to all.

I sure do but I have to admit that I already bought a lot of beemers so I got to reach the status of what they call a "good and loyal customer". Nevertheless, I know people who buy a lot of Mercs and they didn't get this from their dealer.

Order was signed on July 27th 2007. My dealer was able to change one allocation he had for a 3.0d for a 4.8i. That's wat did the trick and reduced the initial 6 month wait to 3 and a half. The problem is that there is a limited number of X5's assigned to Belgium of which the majority are 3.0d's. I guess I was really lucky that BMW Belgium agreed to swap the last slot cutting the wait almost in half but I wouldn't put my hopes up too high as they won't make this the standard.

Very Cool - wish I had that dilemma!

Good luck with the X
