Angry Self Leveling Suspension Fault

While driving my 10 day old 4.8i X5 (sport suspension) today the ESP warning light came on.

The iDrive indicates a system fault with the self leveling suspension. No visible sag from front to rear or side to side. Vehicle handles fine (at street speed.) Vehicle will not enter the sport suspension mode.

I guess it is off the the service center next week. Hope this is a simple fix.

Mine came on. I parked it for an hour, it was off and never came on again.

I've had the "high battery drain" three times (in 4 months), same answer - no problems, it resets and stops.

I'm not sure I would worry about any warning until it repeats (though maybe it did for you).

Unhappy Update-EDC Fault

In my earlier post I indicated the wrong fault (my 'faulty' short term memory!) The indicated fault was for the Electronic Damping Control System. Fault indicator has lit up each time I have started the vehicle since mid-day Sat.

Called my BMW Center this AM. Scheduled for a look on Dec 6 (1st available non-emergency slot.) Vehicle drives & handles normally (except for the fault message that has to be acknowledged on the iDrive screen each time to make it go away.) SA indicated OK to drive normally.

Apologies for the wrong info in the initial post.
