USB Disk playback sort on Track Number vs Alphabetical (Title edit)

I use the USB disk option (not Aux-In) and the I-drive Media Player for all my music and it really works like a dream.

One thing I noted is the order in which tracks from Albums are displayed.
They are displayed in alhabetical order, not in their original order as they were on the CD.
This is when you choose to select by Album for example.
If you go in by "Directory" you will also get it alphabetical, but as my Rip program has put "01, 02, 03" in front of the filenames, it will then be sorted in the right order. But I don't want to use Directory, I like using Album, Genre or Artist as the entry point for song selection.

I don't know how the I-drive Media Player would know what the original track order on the CD was, but I can't think of an MP3 player which has this wrong. Maybe MP3 players use the ripped file name (with the 01,02 prefix) to determine that?

Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone been able to change this?
Or should we report this to BMW to have this fixed in V28?

USB Disk playback sort on Track Number vs Alphabetical (Title edit)

After doing some further research I found some MP3 players out there who also seem to sort alphabetical (and most people find those in error..)
The correct way to sort tracks is by "Track Number" (an ID3 TAG within the song). In a Windows environment you can find this tag as "#" listed in the details of the song.

So apperently, the the I-drive Media Player does not sort on "Track Number".
It does sort on filename in Directory mode and if your RIP program put the "track number" as a prefix of the filename, it will work in Directory mode.

But it looks like in Album, Artist or Genre mode we are stuck with Alphabetical mode for now.

Anyone out there with the same experience, so we can rule out an error on my side?

I would like to take this to BMW with some supporting material and it would help if people here confirm that "Track number" sort using USB playback is indeed not happening or configurable using V27.

Has anyone come across little problem this in the meantime?
I had the dealer confirm that "track sort" with USB Audio (6FL) is Alphabetical, but I find it quite annoying not to be able to play the tracks in the order they are on the CD.
As this is probably an easy software fix, I'm hoping to find more people who find this annoying.

It still works as you found, on my MY2012 e70.
I don't use the onboard HDD much. Just plugged my iPod into the USB in the center console and use that 99% of the time.
