what's difference or better between BMW Floor MATS and BMW Floor LINERS??

I don’t really understand the difference between these two liners/mats:

Floorliner covers more area than mats and is suitable for winter and can hold slush. Those are rebranded by BMW from weathertech. Check more pics here

The floor mats are exactly that....rubber mats not unlike the regular carpeted mats, but rubber. The floorliners are moulded soft thermoplastic liners that are placed directly over the floorboard carpets. They have about a 1 1/2" lip all the way around to contain any spills. The liners are vehicle specific and are an exact fit. I have both. I put the rubber mats over the floorliners.

I've had both and for my needs, I really like the liners better. They are actually more like trays. They catch a lot of snow and mud and cover more area, particularly in the back seat. I say get em if you are worried about winter weather or mud messing with your X.

floor mats and when i went to install them i took out the carpet ones and then put in the rubber one with the pins that bmw supply and noticed that the holes in the rubber mats dont line up with the pins in there position.. is this a defected product or im i missing something here? are the holes in the floor factory or did my dealer make a mistake in where he drilled the hole?

bmw rubber mats come with different pins.. you have to screw in where "original hole is and that doesnt line up where holes are in rubber mats..

Does anyone have a picture of the BMW's (NOT WEATHERTECH's !!!) SECOND ROW RUBBER MAT ? The pics on the BMW's website only show the driver's one. I wonder how the 2nd-row one looks like, and how much it covers...

I've searched on this forum, could not find any pic

They are sort of half hour glass shaped. They flare out at the front of the backseat and taper going under the front seat. 2 peices, one for drivers side and one for passenger side.
