Considering X5

Love bimmers, nothing else drives like them. Family always had one.

Couple of questions, if I do purchase the X5, I'm looking for a pretty "bare bones" one. It's between the X5 and the ML320 CDI, I liked the idea of having a diesel- I bought my soon to be ex a E320 CDI and the gas mileage is great.

Looks like I'll have to order a bare bones X5 because most out there have packages that bump the price up pretty good. I got the invoice pricing from 2007 from BimmerFest and from what I read, prices haven't changed. Looks like the X5 3.0's invoice is $42,925 including destination & handling. I'm going to add a couple of options, but how much above invoice can I realistically expect to pay??

Also, is the leatherette ok? Does it feel and hold up ok?

Thanks much for any suggestions, responses.

Expect to pay somewhere $1000-$2000 above invoice. That is a realistic deal.

It is luxury car therefore think ahead of resale value. Without options like leather, bluetooth, it would be really hard...

you could easily get 2000 off msrp, maybe more if its a demo x5 that the dealers want to get rid of. (07 x5, no navi, parking sensors, 3rd row, grey over black). But maybe all of those are already sold. Good luck!!
