Congratulations! Too bad you don't seem to have any snow yet. I am having a great time playing... er driving in the snow in my X5, it is an amazing machine. A lot more sophisticated than my E53 was.

It's coming. Wintery mix tomorrow and a storm Saturday into Sunday. Maybe I'll go do some doughnuts early this weekend before the lunatics come out. I don't mind playing around in the snow, the other people around me scare me.

What tires are you running? Did you put snows on or are you running with the all seasons? I have the 19 inch all season run flats, I'll see how she does this weekend. I still have brand new Pirellis on 18s from my E53 I can put on if necessary.

Hey Congrats on the new ride.... talk about getting a great Chrissy present!!!

A quick tip on the idrive, move and hold the controller in the direction you need and it goes directly to the page in that direction. You can skip going back to the menu page before accessing eg navigation.

Have a great Christmas and enjoy your new ride....

Cheers

John

Thanks John. Surprisingly I'm doing OK with the i-drive. I haven't set all the hot buttons yet but I did stop hyperventilating from gadget overload. I'm falling in love all over again.

L, not to dampen your enthusiasm or limit your options, but I don't recall
posts that describe E53 wheels going on E70 hubs with exacto fito...

Maybe someone has, reported it and I missed/forgot it.

I do recall the hub bore size supposedly being diff.

An old info post of mine:

"From my quickly fading memory, hub bore size is
slightly larger on E70 wheels vs. E53:
reportedly 74.1 on E70 and 72.56 on E53.

I think an E53 wheel that one likes, could be machined
easily, to fit well on an E70. I suspect the reverse is
not practical, unless one found a good welder and grinding
man at that machine shop."

What I'm saying is before you run down to PepBoys to have
your E53 winter wheel/tar set slapped on, you might do some
"checking" at a real/good quality wheel/tire joint.

And, any real world experience from the E70 gang will help all
of those that have E53 winter wheel sets hanging around.
Back to peruse...

I am not doing new wheels. If they won't work I'll go back to plan A, giving them to my tenant here at work for his '05.

It's only a two year lease and I'm not getting the mod bug, I'm not getting the mod bug, I refuse to get the mod bug.

Oh, they're installing the wind deflectors as we speak. I wanted to get the aluminum pedals too but the E70 catalog only has the pedals with the aluminum trim, not the full aluminum with the slots like I had on the E53.
