oscillating 'humming' sound when on gas between 1500 and 2000 RPM??? listen closely..

somewhere in between 1500 and 2000 RPM, when i'm on the gas, i hear a humming noise that maintains a consistent, slow, oscillating noise change (like a hummmmMMMMMMmmmmmMMMMmmmmmMMMMMmmmmmMMMMM).

it seems to go away as i get over 2000 RPM and also when i let my foot off the gas. my foot is steady.

does anyone else hear this? listen closely....

I got it on my 4.8 too. I can hear it when car is stopped. Sounds like a faint fan whinning. Its annoying. It picks up and then goes down at equal 2-3 second intervals.

I hear it too and it is annoying. It is the same sound I hear when an aftermarket sound system is installed on other vehicles and it requires a power suppressor.

I think I have also been hearing it, and I turned off my climate system and it stopped. My guess is that it is the A/C running that causes this. I have a 2007 4.8i

i will try turning AC off... BUT... i'm talking about a noise that I ONLY hear when i'm on the gas in between the RPM's I indicated above. so i'm not sure it's what you folks are hearing...
