Ruby red example

Stumbled into these pics on German X5 forum. Had never seen ruby red E70 before so thought I'd share.... personally would not go for this color but it does look like a nice combo with the grey rims

I agree - the darkened rims look nice with this color.

Hi Sam,

That colour is named Rubinschwarz or Ruby Black. It isn't red but, depending on the amount of sunlight, rather dark purple.

The overall impression you get from it is black but it is a really interesting colour. It comes from the Individual line and I have this colour on my M6 convertible. I've attached a picture for reference. The pictures don't do the colour any justice. One really has to see this in the flesh.

I considered going for Ruby Black on the X5 as well but my wife didn't want to as we already had this colour on the M6 and she wanted something different for her ride.

It does look nice on the X5 in combination with the Ferric Grey rims.

PS: I signed up for a 599 today (not for an F430). Now the waiting begins. 24 long months which may be shortened to 18 if I'm lucky.

Thanks Hans.

This is indeed an individual colour for the E70. I don't know if our friends in the US can get this. This has been a hot topic on the M6 board. For some reason Individual isn't available in the US for the M6. Hard to figure that one out. I'm sure this would sell like hot cakes in the US.

Is Individual available for the E70 in the US??
