First 750 mile report...

Well, we have just completed a 400 mile two day round trip and have a total of 750 miles on the E70. So far, really love this vehicle. The V8 is just absolutely addicting. I am really, really thinking about trying to get rid of my 530i for a 550i sport (even though it is only 18 months old). Suspension, even with sport package and 20 inch wheels, gives a great ride. Smooth and comfortable. The rearview camera does suck at night. It is just plain terrible. The PDC is very nice and comes in handy when pulling back into the garage. Standard sound system is very nice, as is the iPod/USB interface.

Loves:
iPod/USB
Panorama roof
Comfort seats (have them in my 5er)
Ventilated seats (REALLY FREAKIN COOL....no pun intended)
rear climate
auto bootlid

Dislikes:
Rearview camera at night
Sapphire black will be a bitch to keep clean

Overall, very pleased and impressed. The only fit/finish flaw I have noticed is that there is already a crease pattern developing in the butt area of the driver's seat. I am by no means obese (about 5'8" and 180), and neither is my wife. I purposely got the vent/perforated seats because I thought they would wear really well. After I am out of the car for an hour or so, the crease seems to be gone. Maybe just part and parcel for the seat type, but was not expecting it already. I have owned several cars with perforated seats and never had an issue.

Anyway, will Zaino the car on Thursday and tint the windows. Will post pics then...

You should complain about the camera to service and see what they say. Also I'd like to know if the latest firmware will help any. See if you can find out what version you have.

If enough people complain about the camera, it should get us somewhere. At least it should be easily replaceable.

Jason, try cleaning the monaco blue!

Also completed a 3,000km round trip (from 1,400m above sea level right to the coast), and it was a blast. Pano open the whole way, and good music, and bright, blue skies - what more could one want in a trip?!!

Cheers,

Does the pano fold upward in any way or does it just slide open back and forward?

Folding upward would definitely help with the interior helicopter effect.

You can vent the pano roof, and then completely open it as well.
