After Service Update

I finally took the car in for service, I don't know why I waited so long! Here is what they found:

There was in fact a service bulliten 370107 on this issue. It seems that the Spring Accumulators were faulty. They replaced the 'sprung accumulators' and all is well. The car is tight over the bumps and no more strange noises!

Lesson learned, if it does not seem right, have it checked...

Interesting .. I've just had my anti roll bar replaced due to a noisy front end, after 5000 miles, its cured the fault 85% but I still have some noise and was wondering what else could be doing it. Do you have adaptive drive also ?

I got two noises:

1. Door trim creak (both front) whenever I go uphill or downhill, especially combined with a turn. There's a creaking noise coming from the door trim area. I just hope it's not due to movement of the car's frame/body (it should be rigid right?). The car is just 1 month old!

2. One-off metal noise from behind on rough roads going at 30-50 km/h, perhaps suspension-related, perhaps some loose tailgate lock.

I hate having to bring it to the dealer and having them take anything apart especially interior trim.

They say Porsche builds much quieter car? I should've gotten the Cayenne.

Do you have the sport button just behind your shifter ?

Hi MUZ
My E70 is extremely noisy from the front end too - the car has been in and out of the dealers many times and even had the front diff replaced, but still have a hollow roaring noise coming from the front end - there has been many postings on here and other X5 forums regarding the same problem and the common factor is 20'' Bridgestone run flat tyres - my dealer let me drive 2 other X5's and they are all the same and when the car is lifted off the floor on a ramp and driven up to 60mph the noise has gone - hence proving its a tyre problem.
Hope this helps
Nick

I have the same problem. A hollow roaring noise in the background, coming from the front. Only about 4000 miles and 18" Run-flat Bridgestone OEM. It must not be tires.

Does anyone have more info on this service bulletin 370107 ?

Edit: I don't have the adaptive drive or the sport pack.

Sounds like Jed at the factory is substance abusing again and unfortunately the whole quality control team had to be returned to the rehab centre for a check-up .. sounds like your one slipped through ..
