For those wondering, I was recommended to try some liquid clay bar over at the detailing forum and boy did it do wonders with one swipe of the foam pad. It's like those tv infomercials where they wipe stuff up and amazingly it's sparkling clean with no mess... I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see this with my own eyes. And to think I scrubbed so hard with just soap and water last time with no results...

BTW, anyone know how well those spray-on waxes work?

What brand of the liquid clay bar did you purchase? And where can you get it at? I'll need to stock up on some of that.

Btw, rh71. Did you ever put on the 214's yet? Can't wait to see pics of your car with those on. Love the white with aero kit.

You can get it at any Autozone, pep boys etc. Mother's, Maguiar's, Magic Clay. Go to the auto cleaning section.

Walmart (store only, not online) and it was the Turtle Wax brand (blue/gray packaging). It cost $13 for a tall bottle and I only used one spritz of the stuff so far.

I got the 214s on this morning but am waiting till I have time to put the fender flares on before I do another "photoshoot". To be honest though, it looks pretty damn aggressive with the wheels sticking out a tad. But the flares are sitting in my living room so I'll [attempt to] throw them on sometime soon.

Is the Liquid Clay Bar that rh71 was speaking of the same as regular clay bars detailers use? I haven't followed detailing forums too much so don't know if those two are the same thing or something completely different and new.

^ you need a lubricant of some sort for clay to be effective (otherwise you're effectively rubbing dry clay onto paint). The liquid clay bar is a type of all-in-one method where the "clay" is already in the solution (shake to activate) and you're just using a foam pad to apply.

Here's the thread in detailing with a referring link about clay: http://www.xoutpost.com/detailing-for...t-exhaust.html

Was typing up my post when you posted your so didn't see it till mine went through. So liquid clay bar does sound like something different from the traditional clay bars.

I did think it was a bit odd that a traditional clay bar would get out stains. From my experiences they haven't been able to remove a stain, but are great at getting rid of tar and other embedded objects on the surface of the car.

Can't wait to see pics! Thanxs!
