New (07) X5 4.8 - PGA (BMW Classic) car

After many months of reading this board, and learning about the experiences of others, I took the plunge and leased a 2007 X5 4.8 with 500 miles on it. The vehicle was 1 of 10 X5's that my dealership obtained from BMW NA and used by PGA golfers in the BMW Classic in Atlanta recently.

Here's the deal:

Titanium Silver
Black Nevada Leather
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Rear Climate Package
Sport Package
Comfort Access
3rd Row Seat
Park Distance Control
Navigation System
Head-Up Display
HD Radio
Satellite Radio

MSRP with Destination: $71,420

My lease is $818/month plus tax ($49) for 36 months, 10,000 miles per year. Total cash out of pocket was $3,000 including 1st month payment, and all of the other dealer/lease fees. Would welcome any feedback as to whether this is a decent lease.

Didn't want the 3rd row seats, the Heads-Up Display or even the HD-Radio. The only options it's missing are the rear-camera and a 6 CD changer. I assumed it had a CD changer and spent about 15 minutes looking for it before I wised up and checked the manual.

My last comment - having used audi's MMI and other similar technologies, iDrive isn't really as bad as I thought it would be. The Navigation system is fairly limited in its capability - so much so that it makes my TomTom portable GPS look like a technology marvel.

Lastly - I have to say that those that contribute to this site have made a significant impact on my decision to get an x5.

I'll be back to share my experiences and some photos after the dealer installs the running boards ($720 out of pocket).

PS - This x5 came from BMW of Fort Myers, FL

I also made a deal on one of the PGA X5s. Everything is the same as yours except it's sapphire black/sand beige nappa. I added the ipod adapter. Picking it up tomorrow!

My deal was a bit better but for a 24 month lease - I wanted a shorter lease. For the price I got, I couldn't resist the deal for such a great vehicle.

wch- Same dealership? What was your deal- a bit lower monthly b/c of 2 year lease?

Without seeing all of the numbers it looks to me like you both got really good deals. The head up is an expensive option. Is the first year of Sirius paid?

Olneymd - In my old X3 I used the aux jack for my ipod and while I did have to turn the volume up it worked fairly well. Not as good as my integrated X5 adapter but it got the job done. I believe there was a seperate aux volume control that your could adjust to help with that issue.

Dang, good deal. Some might not agree with your putting $5k down (assume that was your total drive off) but if your X is equipped like Olney then your MSRP is $10k more than mine with a significantly lower monthly payment. You put down more than me but not that much more to account for the 4.8 and options. Your guys Xs must have been discounted about $10k, right?

The 5K was drive off cost so includes first month, title, registration etc. I figured that the monthly payment was low enough to justify the money down, particularly since the car is loaded. I think it was a combination of it being a PGA car (230 miles on mine) and that it is a 2007 for which there is an incentive.

I don't have the IPOD adapter, but i did try plugging my iPod into the rca jack. The volume was too low (with the iPod turned up), and I was getting crackling - basically, it was terrible. Anyone else have this problem, or a suggestion?

It's either the cable (new), the iPod (no problems with headphones or stereo), or the car.

Thanks

Not bad deals. However, I put $7600 down on my 2008 4.8i (of which $6000 was MSDs...ie refundable) and my payment is $858/month for 3 years/36000. I have the same options except no 3rd row, and no CA. I do have auto tailgate, running boards, plus 20's and my MSRP was right at yours.... Just for comparison.
