I've got a feeling that this is not a recommended course of action as the centre bore is different. I think you can obtain adapters but some folks are dubious about their use.
I'm sure someone else will reply who knows more about it than me.

E53 hub bore size is: 72.56. E70 bore is 74.1...
so, unless you had those E53 wheels bored bigger
by a machine shop, they won't fit.

From my fading memory, a couple of posters here
have done the wheel hub hole boring deal, with
success, but I can't find those posts.

I dug up an anecdotal link, where a poster had success with
the bore job...fyi.

Boring out the hub is not really that hard of a job if you have a shop in your area that works on wheels. Just go to a tire shop who sells a lot of wheels and ask for a recommendation. I would first measure the wheel setback and see if it is much different between the old and new wheels.

Im looking for the same answer. I have a set of 22" OZ canyon's off my old E53 Im trying to get them fitted to my E70.

Does anyone know of a machine shop in the NY Westchester area?

Those H & R adapters wont work from what I understand the bore size is bigger not smaller those are if the rim has a bigger bore size.

Offset, on wheels from an E53, should be fine...
