Call waiting/bluetooth

What do you people do when you get a callwaiting call?
What shows up and how do you switch back and forth?

I dont think you can switch back to the original call using BT. At least on the E60 you drop it once you take the second line.

Well, I use the phone to switch back and forth, but it does become annoying that you have to actually dig in your pocket, find the phone, look at where the incoming call is coming from and then press send button to switch to the second line.
Switching back using phone itself works fine again, but its so irritating.
Why cant this be fixed and we get caller ID on the screen as well as functionality to switch between callwaiting calls from the wheel or at least iDrive?

I believe this is a limitation of the bluetooth standard, and not idrive.

using the ear piece, I am usually able to switch between calls without a problem or at least what thats what I remember.
I did use wired ear piece with my Blackberry alot for convinience of not having to recharge Bluetooth all the time, so that maybe confusing me.

Sad to know that there is a limitation.

BTW, how long does it take for you guys and gals to have the phone paired when you get into the car and are on the phone, did you have the phonecall in limbo for 20 or so seconds?

if i'm on a call and get into the car... and then turn the car on... i lose sound on the phone but it does not come through the car.... i have to manually hit 'audio-iphone' on the phone... wait for the car to show the phone connection on nav screen.... and then can hit 'audio-bmw' for it to work.

i've noticed a few times when entering the car while on the cell phone that it goes silent (for both parties on the conversation) until the car's BT has picked up the signal and has taken over. This is done automatically and takes about 10-15 seconds..

same thing happens in reverse when leaving the vehicle...

it's actually a nice feature....especially if i don't have to hit any buttons to make the transition...

not sure about call waiting...haven't received a second call to notice whether it supports it or doesn't...

but if you guys say it doesnt support it... well can't do much about that..

i'll test it this weekend too!

I had it with few other BT, you get in the car, BT turns on, and just takes over the call without putting anything in silence.
I hate to tell people to hang on before I start the car, What if you are in a heated conversation that you dont want to pause. X5 just takes the call into bluetooth and holds it, you ether have to transfer it back to handset or wait it out... I find it P.I.A.
I am now designating a separate phone for the X so that I can use my regular phone as is and if I need to keep it on speaker, I move it up in pairing order once I am on the road. I use the other phone for most calls in the car.
BTW Armani phone fully integrates with X5 as well, just tested it today. (not on compatible list)
