Your overall opinion about the 2007 X5?

So guys, what is your overall opinion of the 2007 X5?

What are good and bad things that you have noticed?

Is it better than the E53? In what ways?

Are the RunFlat Tires an advantage or just more expensive?

I've had a couple (steering wheel not raising/telescoping automatically) and now the dreaded parking brake failure. Steering wheel fixed with new software release. Going in this Friday to get the parking brake looked at. Someone here thinks the parking brake problem will go away with a new software release. These are minor problems all in all. Just a pain in the ass to make dealer appt and lose the truck for 1-3 days.

'08 bugs

My driver's window frequently stops half way up and reverses back down when using the auto close.

The object line in my backup camera dances around

I keep loosing my bluetooth connection.

My rear door doesn't seem to be sealed properly. I just noticed opening the door after a rain that water drained from the door jam onto the ground, more like poured out. Nothing inside was wet. Maybe this is why my cabin seems noisy and not because of my wind deflectors

Slight annoyances, I haven't gone back to the dealer yet. I'll knock them out in one shot.

Power and handling surpass that of the E53 (I never thought I say that)

Overall the E70 is good especially the engine and the handling. Minor annoyances are due to technical features such as backup camera and steering wheel (auto raise/down issue). I also had minor issue with the seatbelt buckle scratching the b-pillars. Also, some IDrive slowness but overall, I am very happy with the E70 and have no regrets at all. I have it since 12/1/96 with almost 12,000 miles so far.

Engine is amazing. I have the 3.0 and it performs flawlessly on the highway. I'm sure the 4.8 is quicker, but for commuting in the D.C. area, the 3.0 is hard to beat.

so far no real problems on my 08 3.0.. great build quality and features..love the autotailgate and the engine is more than i need...it does't feel heavy at all..

bluetooth works flawlessly... ipod adapter too!

absolutely love comfort access... get it if you can!

heated seats work very well...NAV could be better with a touch screen and not sure why they still use DVD media instead of having it installed on memory chips like the Garmins and other less expensive but more informative devices...

plenty of trunk/cargo storage...(i have my cleaning supplies, tool kits, first aid kits, and lots of rags stored there)

only problem so far is a fautly PDC switch which was replaced yesterday under warrantee.

mileage could be a little better...but it's still new so time will tell...

standard sound system could be improved... opt for the premium if you can...

i upgraded my stock speakers to Polk Audio spkrs and it made a huge difference in sound quality... but i still wish i'd opt for the premium 600watt sound system and extra speakers in the rear pillar.

overall great vehicle...never looked back!
