I tried that and was allowed to drive the vehicle - wife took keys in the
house and I was able to shift and move it around outside....

Not suprising though. If the programmed logic required the comfort access to be there not only for starting, but for continued running, it would mean that if something went wrong with the comfort access device in your pocket while driving, the engine would immediately shut down -- not something you'd like to happen when passing another vehicle or driving down a steep and twisty mountain road. Far better to find out it isn't working the next time you try to start the vehicle.

I suspect that is why it only needs to be present for starting the engine.

I got the CA (£650 ish) option on my new E70 sdM sport which i took delivery 26th Feb there was a button on the fob to release the hatch but the option to 'Power lift' and close was seperate which I was unaware of at the time of purchase and would have cost me extra £450 ish had I chosen it.
