Video Entertainment Suggestions

I just picked up my 08 X5 and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a DVD video system. Preferably headrest style. Is the BMW system worth $3300 and is the factory mounted center console version available as an after the fact add-on?

Any available hacks or tips on displaying video on the center display?

I have Premium, Cold Weather, Rear Privacy and iPOD equipment.

Thanks.

There is Vizualogic & Invision. I installed the Vizualogic on my vehicle. Click here for pictures: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...s-painted.html

Seems as if there is an issue with 08 X5 due to the active restraint system of the headrest. No one makes them yet besides BMW and their $4K price tag.

There is a solution available that INViSiON is manufacturing for BMW of North America. It will be available for the '08 X5 and X6 with active headrests in mid-May. More information to follow soon...

We could not find an aftermarket unit for our 08 so we opted for the BMW dual screen option. The final cost with parts and install was approximately $2900. I don't like that the screens sit about 1" behind the front headrest. It reduces the room between the backseat passenger and the video screen. At least the kids are happy on those long trips.
