Front grill removal

Does anyone know how to remove the 2 bottom front grills on the 07-08 X5? I want to paint them, but don't know how to get them off.
Has anyone painted their grills?

Regarding the removal of the the two plastic grilles on the bumper:

The top (small) one simply snaps off

The bottom (larger) one, you need to take off the front bumper (black part) first and then take it off from the back of the bumper.

HTH,

front bumper

Not that hard. Snap out the lower plastic grill on each side of the bumper. Remove all the screws at the bottom of the bumper (connecting the bumpers and the lower covers and fender liners. Also remove the screws at both end of the bumper (connecting the black part to the painted/fender). Then remove the 5 screws on the top of the upper center grille. Separate the black bumper from the fender by unsnapping two connecting points on each side.

Should be less than a hour for the deinstall and install
