Run Flat Tyres

This question may have been asked before, but is anyone getting trouble with annoying noise from their run flat tyres
Is it possible to replace with normal rubber and will they fit 20'' rims

No problem with my 19" RFT. No noise or whatsoever. Just came back from a 600 mile ski trip and enjoyed every minute of the ride.

The 20" rims are staggered. 275/40-20 front & 315/35-20 rear. Make sure you get the right size.

Tirerack for 20" staggered wheels.

No problem with 20" RF performance tires nor the 18" BMW winter tires! (Both Dunlops from BMW) They are both whisper quiet.

Welcome to the X5world!

Just ordered

I just ordered the Michelin Latitudes for my 20s. These are not RFs I have heard that they're pretty good tires -- especially for the $$$.

I have talked to my local dealer and they told me that the conventional tires will not fit on the BMW OEM rims (that goes with 18, 19 or 20's) due to the rim is special designed to fit the RFT.

Just in case the dealer's wrong about this, can someone confirm this, if this is true or not? Or, has anyone swap the non-RFT tires without changing the OEM rims?

I'll try to get a second opinion from a different dealer on Tuesday.

Tirerack lists over 50 non-run flat and 8 run flat tires that will fit the rims of my 07 E70. They're pretty good at knowing what tires fit your vehicle. Try giving them a call.
