Is dealer installed iPOD interface EXACTLY the same as factory?

Thanks for the info. how about the interface visually? Is it the same on the idrive screen or is it modfied. I read that if your car is fitted with the 6 disk changer, then that has to be disabled for the ipod to work. I have also read that it is much slower, but these responses were from 2007....so not sure if things have improved for 2008.
