Puting DVD's on the GPS dvd drive?

I own a 2008 x5 so it has a dvd drive in the back, I just wanted to ask if there's some sort of video conversion software that can make the front dvd drive read regular dvds so i can view them on the front screen?

you can view the dvd from the rear dvd player and from the dvd changer(if equiped) on the front screen.
however its only while your not moving. there is another recent thread that poped up with a unit that should allow playing while driving.

Hey Buschy,
Are you sure you can watch the DVD (on the front main screen) from the rear DVD player? I need to try that if thats the case.

My stock 2008 X5 has a DVD in the front console for NAV, a DVD in front console for displaying on the iDrive screen, a 6 disc DVD changer in the front glovebox that doesn't display anywhere, and a DVD in the rear entertainment that displays on the rear screen.

The 6 disc DVD changer plays DVDs on the front console NAV screen.

Based on what you're saying, it sounds like it may not if you have DVD in rear entertainment. I don't have that package.

Question - when you have your rear dvd on - do you need to select something from the idrive screen to display? or does the display just black out and start playing movies?
