If you are leasing the car you have to return it with the same type of tires that it came with -same size, RF-brand name doesn't make a difference (at least with BMW Canada).A few guys here replace the RF's with regular tires to improve the noise/ride quality problem and they put them back on the car upon lease end.

I think its the Bridgestone RFT are the problem as people with Dunlop or Goodyear RFT do not seem to complain about the noise
I will definately change to non run flats when these tyre wear out as the 'din' type of noise is aweful

I have Bridgestone RFTs, and my E70 is much quieter with them than my E53 ever was with standard tires.

I had an E53 4.6is which used 315's on the rear, and I'd say my E70 4.8Msport using Bridgestones RFT's was quieter, accepting the rears are only 285's now .. all said and done this a qieter car for me .. all except the front suspension noise I now have

there is no noise issue with my 2008 x5 4.8 with sport Package and 214 rims and 20. The oem Dunlop RFT is quiet, but I know if you have a oem bridgestone 20 RFT. They have noise issue. You can swap out your RFT and installed a non runflat, they will be quieter than the RFT same profile. and have a slight softer ride than RFT. Just make sure you have a backup plan in case of a flat! I hope this help
