How much over invoice should I pay for my new X5?

Longtime lurker...newb to posting. I recently ordered a 2008 3.0 X5 and it just arrived. I had to have it built because I wanted specific things (a rather "strippy" model) and all of the ones already at dealerships were loaded to the gills. I just got the Premium Pkg, Premium Sound Pkg, heated seats, third row, Satellite Radio, Ipod connector....pretty bare bones, but perfect for me.

Anyways, my good friend is the internet manager and he told me they would sell it to me for $2000 over invoice. I think that is WAY to high because when I was looking at a Lexus, they were offering $500 over invoice. With the economy and car market the way it is, I would think that $2000 over is unreasonable.

How much did you pay over invoice on your X5 and what is acceptable?
