question on fender flares...

has anyone installed the optional 20inch fender flare kits as a "do it yourselfer?"

it's getting warmer and i'm about to swap out the 18s for 214s... don't have the fender flares and i think it'll look better with them on...

not sure if i really need to get BMW involved in this install.... can i do it myself?? (as long as it doesn't require special riveting tools)

not a problem paying them to do it but i just don't want to go through the hassle of scheduling it and having to drop off/pickup during the week..

As far as I understand it, you just push the center of the old rivets to pop them out. You'll need a new set of rivets of course. I believe it's a definite do-it-yourself job. I'm so tempted to get the 214s and do this as well. I really don't look forward to swapping them twice a year though. If only I didn't live in a snow state.

BTW, when you put the 214s on, do you bring them to any ole' shop like an STS/Goodyear ?

Morristown for flares and rivets: http://www.xoutpost.com/accessories-f...el-option.html

yep..i'm ordering from morristown... they've been great so far...

i'm actually putting on all-season aftermarket tires (not the OEM run flats)

don't plan on swapping out each season either!

thanks for the reply on installation... i'll make sure they include replacement rivets...
