retrofit DVD changer

does anyone know if the DVD changer in the 08 X5 can be retrofitted to the 07 x5? also, will the dvds play on the nav screen when in park like the 08's?

My dealer said that he does not think it is compatible if you do not order the option. If it was, the DVD changer here in Canada is $2300.00!

the 2008 dvd changer will play dvd's throught the nav screen while the vehilce is in park. Does anyone know how to get around that?

While it will play DVDs on the nav screen, the image is small and does not fill up the widescreen and the CCC system overheats eventually will lock up. Not worth the effort IMHO.

You can retrofit the DVD changer, and with the zoom, it does fill up the screen. The question is why would you want to? My kids (10 and 7) don't even use the RSE anymore, when they were younger, they would watch movies, but now with Ipads and wifi hotspot, they don't even bother. I've had this X5 for almost 7 years now

Because I'm old school and could not get the X5 with 8-track.
Therefore I'm trying to get it wirh dvd player.
