Homelink issues

I've had my 07 X5 4.8 for 3 months - It's a big upgrade over my old RX350.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem I have. I am operating 2 garage doors using the homelink. I can program the left and right buttons without any issues but after a couple of weeks of working correctly, pushing either button opens both doors. My wife's 335i is programmed the same way and never has any issues?

I've had the excessive battery drain message once but it has not returned?

Time to go back to the dealer????

Sounds like someone accidentally reprogrammed it.

I guess a crazy scenario could say if it is a random code the two have sync'd up.

I'm the only driver and it has happened four times so I don't think it is being reprogrammed. I've made an appointment for service - the service advisor had never heard of the problem so we'll see.

The good news is that he knew all about the SIB for the excessive battery drain.

It sounds like your homelink unit is bad. I had mine replaced on my Lexus LS 460. It did the same thing one time. It opened both doors at the same time. The next time I used it, it would only open one door and lost the code for the other door...

I think you are right. I'll suggest that they replace it since I doubt there is anyway they can diagnose the problem. The SIB for the Excessive battery drain takes 6 hours so they'll have the time.
