^ ...and then painted the lower air ducts silver

I personally like the contrast of titanium on black. If it were a lighther colour car like white then I would probably prefer the contrast of black.

IMO need to paint that lower air intake black as well---go 100% Murdered Out if you are going that way.

Yes, my X5 is fairly dirty in the pics, (sorry - been traveling this week). I think I'll stick with the titanium...

Titanium grills can be so easily made yourself. I just made my own using some Titanium Wire Cloth (Wire mesh, whatever you want to call it). Just bought a cut piece fo the material from here (actually I bought 2 pieces so that I could experiment a little bit) Titanium Wire Cloth on Belleville Wire Cloth Co., Inc.?

They had exactly what I needed for me to make my own grill. I am going to take some pictures now and I will post them soon. Easier than it looks.

Sorry to revive this thread, but is that Jet black or black sapphire?

Also, is there any rhyme or reason as to why some E70's come with the titan-line grilles/mesh and others get the black grilles/mesh?

I believe the sport package gives you titanium mesh. The grill depends on the sales model, though this may have changed over the years.
