Ipod adapter wont random play whole ipod
What is it with this adapter ? it wont do a simple shuffle of all my ipod tunes, instead it looks for folders or groups of tracks like the last 25 played. The last one in my E53 work perfectly and was (almost) totally random, and similarly was a dealer and not factory fit. Any one else worked this out yet ?

I store my music on my IPhone as one flat playlist, so it's probably more simple for me, than others. But once I've got a song playing and highlighted, I press down on the IDrive knob to list a couple of options, and I select/highlight random from the menu within Idrive. It works pretty good for me, as it won't mess with any settings of the Iphone.
It may be different for others? |

Good plan, that's the way to do it.. put it in a single playlist

As far as I'm aware, my ipod songs are all stored in the 'root' diectory. The ipod makes other diectories, such as last 25 played, or most 25 repeated tracks. The X5 sees these directories as its 'CD Drives' as if you had a six CD changer, (which my car previously had), so '1' is the root, but is definately not playing them in a random order by track, it looks more like random order by 'album' to me ?
