Question Wear of tyres and replacement?

Hello

Have any of you of to replace their tyres of their X5 E70?

How much of kilometers or miles did you cross with the tyres of origin?

In Europe, many persons say that tyres in 20" make no more than 25.000 kilometers (= 15.500 miles).

Thanks a lot.

I have the 20s with around 10,000 miles. I reckon the rears will do another 10,000 but not too sure about the fronts. Wear is pretty even across the tread though.

Yep, 15-20K on the 20" is about what you will get. If you use the "sport" mode often you may get a little more. They seem to wear more on the outside edge so the "sport" mode prevents body roll over on the edge.

I just replaced my 20's with 13k miles - they started to make a terrible road noise. When we pulled them off, the inside on the rears cupped badly causing the noise. THe rear seams to squat and cause this. BMW advises that this is normal, i dont agree. We did the alignment and everthing was in spec. Its a shame because i had plenty of thread on the rears. I put on 19's with all seasons.

Any one have this problem??? - I will take pics and post.

Wow - only 20K....I'm surprised they must be super soft or something. Whats the point of the warranty if they only last about a year....

We can say thus well that the tyres of X5 E70 know an abnormal wear what does not keep silent about the case with X5 E53.

Would the Run On Flat technology be an explanation this too fast wear?

With my X5 E53, I had made 45 000 kms (28.000 miles) without changing tires (19 " Michelin Diamaris).

With my X5 E70 I am thus going to have to change tires twice as often????
