nynd is on a distinguished road
Oddly enough, I just reached 1600 kms (1000 miles) so decided to do an oil and filter change myself. All I can say is if you plan to keep your vehicle or do own it (purchase), definitely change oil and filter far, far before the BMW scheduled service. I looked at the oil and there is nothing drastic but there is small minute metal particles (from engine break in I assume). If you lease, then I guess I see no added value other than next buyer beware CPO or not. My plans are to do another change at around 7000 kms (5000 later). My 2 cents anyways.
